MexiGO MISSION TRIP

  • From June 16-21, College Ave's MexiGO Family Mission Team will be serving in the Las Flores community of Ensenada, Mexico, to build a house for a family in need and to spread the love of Jesus through Vacation Bible School en español.

Since 2011, College Ave has partnered with YUGO Ministries in Ensenada to build 14 homes for families in need. These families typically live in a small one-room shack made from scrap wood and tarps, sometimes with only one bed for the entire family. During the week, our team works to build and furnish a new home, many times working side-by-side with the family members, getting to share life together. In 2022, both parents of the recipient family gave their lives to Jesus after being handed the keys to their new home on the final day!

While the house is being built, other members of our team serve the children of the community by running a Vacation Bible School in Spanish to teach the kids about Jesus through stories, games, and songs. Many of the youth on our team have served in Sunday school at College Ave and/or have learned Spanish in school for several years, and they use both their leadership skills and bilingual skills to directly engage with the children and glorify God through this experience.

  • Thank you for your interest in supporting the MexiGO Mission Trip and for partnering with us in expectant prayer for how God will work within the team and the community. You, your family, or your community group can also provide support through monetary donations that will directly fund the house for the family and for VBS. Due to border restrictions, all building materials and house furnishings will be purchased in Mexico. In addition to the $7,200 to cover the cost of the house and slab, you can make a monetary donation to help cover any of the other expected costs for house furnishings, VBS, and team scholarships, as estimated HERE
