BENEVOLENCE fund

In our Christ-centered community, we strive to embody Jesus' teachings of love and care. By extending a helping hand and sharing the good news of God's unconditional love, we bring hope and healing to families in crisis.

Galatians 6:2 inspires us to “…carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” In a sense we are “Burden Carriers” for those in need. Because of the generosity of our congregation, College Ave is able to join families & individuals side by side to  carry those burdens through our Benevolence Fund.

Managed by our Deacon/Deaconess Team, the Benevolence Fund provides the necessary resources and aid to ensure families' basic needs are met during a crisis. Below are the answers to typical questions we receive about the Benevolence Fund:

  • Those who are part of the “College Ave” community such as: Members, Regular attenders, Staff and supported missionaries. Note: Food bags & clothing are available to anyone visiting our campus.

  • Needs must be reasonable, documented & short term (not recurrent). They may be:

    • Physical: Food, shelter, utilities, transportation, auto repairs

    • Spiritual: Counseling, memorials, etc.

    • Medical: Co-pays, procedures, pharmaceuticals, paramedic/ER trips, physical therapy & dental

    • Legal: Extremely limited support such as wills, etc.

    • When funding is robust: Classes such as Life-skills, Financial Peace University, Youth Camp scholarships, Food for community outreach and Transition Homes and Medical “fall alert” systems, etc.

    • Long term needs that require social agency support such as: CALFRESH, Medi-CAL, etc.
